If you’re looking to check out local Tahoe businesses, you’ll definitely want to attend the Made in Tahoe Festival at Squaw Valley next year. This year the event was Memorial Day Weekend on Saturday, May 24th and Sunday, May 25th. The intention of the event is too celebrate and show all things made in or around Lake Tahoe and Truckee. It’s a celebration of talented artists and passionate entrepreneurs. Not only can you enjoy the companies that help make up the Lake Tahoe and Truckee communities, but the live music throughout the festival adds a pretty nice touch!
We drove up from the South Shore to Squaw Valley for the festival on Saturday, May 24th and stopped for a nice hike with the pups near Homewood Ski Resort on the way up. We got to the festival around noon and it was already hopping. The village was filled with different, unique companies from LakeTahoe and Truckee. Some included: Rise Designs, Praxis Skis, and Tahoe Blue Vodka. Quite a diverse group of exciting companies! Below are a few pictures.
The live music was a blast with two different stages on each side of the village. If you haven’t been to the Village at Squaw Valley, that’s worth going to see in itself. The visitors can shop for local products or sample local foods and drinks. Below are more pictures.
Granite Rocx, a local backpack & cooler company in Lake Tahoe plans to be there next year so definitely get yourself excited and try to make the trip to Squaw Valley for the Made in Tahoe Festival in 2015.
