The California side has opened at Heavenly Mountain Resort. Heavenly opened for skiing and riding several weeks ago with the Gondola and Tamarack. Then Stagecoach and Boulder opened. Now, the California side is open. The conditions are turning out to be pretty decent. Check it out!
We got an early start and parked at Stagecoach. To describe the video above, it begins by riding the Dipper Lift on the Nevada side at East Peak Lodge. You can see some of the spectacular views of the valley from the lift.
We start cruising down the corduroy run, Orion. After riding back up Dipper Lift, we follow the California Trail towards the newly opened California side to reach Sky Deck. We take Sky Express Chair up and rip down Ridge Run from the top of highest peak at Heavenly, 10,040 feet above sea level. Lake views from Ridge Run are pretty amazing as well as views of the Sierras.
After riding up Canyon Express Chair, we take another run down Ridge Run and then make our way back over to the Nevada side via Skyline Trail. From there, we ride up Comet Chair and take Comet to Crossover to Olympic Downhill, finally reaching Stagecoach.
It was another great day on Heavenly Mountain. Conditions aren’t too bad and they’re beginning to open more terrain for skiers and riders. Have you been to Heavenly yet this year? If not get out there, if so make and comment below and let me know what you think! Also, follow me on twitter @sberei!
